Concept: There are many types of lens available in the optical lens. Like bi-convex and concave and plano concave and convex. Lens can also be defined as positive and negative lenses.
Lenses can be  classified as: positive and negative lenses. Converging lenses converge a collimated beam of light to a point back of  the lens, with the assume  that the beam travels parallel to the lens axis and passes through the lens. Diverging lenses, cause a collimated light beam to diverge and spread behind the lens. The dual  types of concave lenses — biconcave and Plano-concave — are negative. Meniscus lenses form a third type  referred to as convex-concave lenses and can be either positive or negative, depends  on the radius of curvature of the sides of the lens.
