Can I use SQPs for mid-term or pre-board preparation?

For Mid-Term Exams (Now - October 2025) 

It is NOT recommended to solve the entire SQP as a full test for your mid-terms.

The official SQP is based on the entire syllabus, while your mid-term exams will only cover the first 40-50% of it. Attempting the full paper now will be inefficient and discouraging, as you'll encounter many questions from chapters you haven't yet studied.

Here’s the smart way to use the SQP for mid-terms:

• Filter and Select: Go through the SQP and solve only the questions that belong to your mid-term syllabus.
• Analyze Question Quality: This gives you valuable insight into the type and difficulty level of questions CBSE might frame from these specific chapters in the board exam.

For Pre-Board Exams (December 2025 - January 2026) 

This is the PERFECT time to use the official SQP.

Your pre-board exams are designed to be a complete simulation of the final board exam, covering the full syllabus. The SQP is the official blueprint for that exact experience.

Here’s how to use the SQP for pre-boards:

• Take it as a Serious Mock Test: A week or two before your pre-boards, sit down for 3 hours and solve the entire SQP without any distractions.
• Self-Evaluate: Use the official marking scheme to check your paper thoroughly.
• Diagnose Your Weaknesses: This will be your best diagnostic tool. It will clearly show you which chapters need more revision and where you are losing marks (e.g., in competency questions, numericals, or long-answer questions).
