The Cheras were the ruling dynasty of South India's present-day state of Kerala and parts of Tamil Nadu. Muziri, also known as Vanchi, was their capital. The Early Cheras are said to have reigned from the 4th century BCE to the 5th century CE, while the Later Cheras reigned from the 8th to the 12th centuries.
