Detailed Solution

Carbonari was joined by Giuseppe Mazzini.
Giuseppe Mazzini, a revolutionary from Italy, was born in Genoa in 1807 and joined the Carbonari, a clandestine organisation. However, he was exiled in 1831 for plotting a revolt in Liguria. Later, he established two other secret organisations: Young Europe in Berne and Young Italy in Marseilles, both of which attracted like-minded young men from Poland, France, Italy and the German nations. However, the main aim of Carbonari was to unify Italy and achieve Constitutional liberty. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Cavour, the leader of the Carbonari with a drive to unite Italian regions, was neither revolutionary nor democratic.
