Certain organisms have anti-freeze proteins (AFPs) to survive in extreme temperatures. What kind of adaptation is this?

 

 

Many fish thrive in Antarctic waters where the temperature is always below zero. They  prevent their body fluids from freezing because of the presence of Anti-freeze proteins in their body. These proteins bind to and inhibit growth of ice crystals within body fluids through an absorption-inhibition process. Organisms living in such extreme environments show a fascinating array of biochemical adaptations.
