Detailed Solution

According to Freundlich Isotherm, the mass of gas adsorbed can be calculated as,

xm=kp1n

According to first condition where pressure is at 100 mm, it can be written as,

101=k×1001n _________(1)

According to second condition where pressure is at 200 mm, it can be written as,

151=k×2001n __________(2)

For the Vml of volume be adsorbed at given pressure equal to 300 mm, it can be written as,

V1=k×3001n ___________(3)

Dividing equation (2) by equation (1),

1510=21n log 1510=1nlog 2 1n=0.585

Dividing equation (3) by equation (1), It can be simplified as,

V10=31n logV10=1nlog 3

logV10=0.585×0.4771

V10=100.279

V=101.279

Compare it with 10x, we get

x=1.279128×10-2

Hence, the value will be ,128.
