Chahmanas were rulers of Ajmer and Delhi. The Chahamanas ruled over the two important cities of Delhi and Ajmer. Chauhan was another name for Chahamanas. They are from the present-day Rajasthan district of Sambhar. The Chahamanas were the rulers of Rajasthan and its surrounding areas from the 7th to the 12th centuries. After some years, they relocated the capital from Sambhar to Ajmer. The east and west rulers opposed the chahamanas. They controlled the kingdom of Sapadalaksha. They ruled over Ranastambhapura, their capital city.
