Change direct speech into indirect speech

Direct speech is those speeches that use to quote, the exact words spoken. Indirect speech is those speeches that tell you what someone said but does not use the person's actual words. Option A is correct. The reporting verb is in simple present tense and the reported speech in the direct speech is in the present continuous tense so while converting to indirect speech the reporting verb should change to simple past. But here, the tense of the reporting verbs in direct speech will not change.
