Detailed Solution

Charging a body by bringing a charged body near it but not touching it is called charging by induction.
There are several methods for charging an object. One of them is induction. During the induction process, a charged object is brought close to but not touched by a neutral conducting object.
When a charged object is placed near a neutral conductor, the electrons within the conductor move (or induce them to move).
Electron movement causes a charge imbalance on opposing sides of the neutral conductor. While the overall object is neutral (it has the same number of electrons as protons), one side of the object has an excess of positive charge, and the opposing side has an excess of negative charge. A ground is brought near once the charge has been separated within the object.
