There was also the disadvantage of permanent settlement for Britishers, zamindars, and farmers. The disadvantage for Britishers was that they only got a certain fixed amount which they could not increase once it was fixed. In this system, zamindars also had to bear the disadvantage that the revenue fixed by the Britishers was too high. If Zamindars did not achieve the target or were unable to pay the fixed revenue, then they lost zamindari and farmers were burdened with debts.
