Detailed Solution

The given statement is true.
BSP stands for Bahujan Samaj Party. It is one of the national parties in India (the Election Commission of India has recognised it) and has considerable followers in the state of Uttar Pradesh (UP). It seeks to represent the vulnerable section of the population (including the Dalits, Other Backward Classes, Adivasis or any other religious minority groups). Formed in 1984, it has also come into power many times in Uttar Pradesh (and thus has considerable influence on people's minds in that state). The leaders of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) emphasise the importance of inspiration drawn from prominent leaders like Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, Mahatma Phule, etc.
