After the failure of the meeting of the Estate General, Mirabeau and Abbe' Sieyes became the leaders of the National Assembly which was formed in 1789. Mirabeau was born into a noble family but he believed that the feudal privilege in society had to be removed. He delivered powerful speeches to the crowd at Versailles. Similarly, Abbe' Sieyes was a priest but he also tried to help the Third estate. He wrote a pamphlet named "What is the third Estate" which was influential.
