Detailed Solution

The above statement is False.
The English East India Company was not the only European Company that traded with India. The Portuguese had established their presence in India much before the coming of English to the country. The Portuguese had established their base in Goa and controlled India's western coast. The Dutch, too, had begun exploring the possibilities of trade with India and via the Indian Ocean, much before the entry of the English people into the picture. The French traders, too, arrived on the scene.
The correct statement would be that the Portuguese, Dutch and French were also involved in trade with India along with the English East India Company.
