The Iron Pillar at Mehrauli in Delhi was made about 1500 years ago. Chandragupta II constructed the Iron Pillar, a 7.21-meter-high (23-foot-eight-inch) structure with a 41-centimetre diameter and located in Delhi’s Qutb complex at Mehrauli. It is well known for having been built with rust-resistant metals. The pillar, which weighs more than 6 tonnes, is believed to have been built about 1500 years ago someplace else, perhaps outside the Udayagiri Caves, before Anangpal Tomar moved it to its present location in the 11th century.
