Detailed Solution

The given statement is true.
The Kheda Satyagraha of 1918 was a Satyagraha movement led by Mohandas Gandhi in the Gujarat town of Kheda during the British Raj. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was a political ethicist and anti-colonial nationalist who led many nonviolent resistance efforts against the British in India, inspiring political movements worldwide to achieve social and political betterment. The Indian Independence Movement experienced a spectacular change. It was the third Satyagraha movement, following the Champaran Satyagraha and the Ahmedabad mill strike. The peasants of Kheda could not pay the tribute due to crop failure and a plague epidemic and demanded that revenue collection be relaxed. Mahatma Gandhi visited Ahmedabad in 1918 to launch a satyagraha movement among the inhabitants.
