Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.
Acland Mill was the first jute factory founded in India. The factory was founded in 1855 by British entrepreneur George Acland and Bengal financier Babu Bysumber Sen in Rishra, Bengal Presidency, British India. In the early 19th century, jute production in India and Bengal was inefficient and of poor quality. The Crimean War blocked flax and hemp shipments from the Russian Empire to Britain, allowing Bengali's jute trade to replace flax and hemp shipments permanently. In the mid-18th century, Bengal exported large quantities of raw jute to supply Dundee's flax industry.
