Austrian Chancellor Duke Metternich hosted the Vienna Congress in 1815. The Congress came up with a Treaty named the Treaty of Vienna. The purpose of the treaty was to recover the actions done by Napoleon Bonaparte. In 1815 Napoleon was defeated. The representatives of European powers including Britain, Russia, Prussia and Austria formed a congress that came up with this treaty. The Bourbon dynasty was returned to power. France had to lose all the territories that it had acquired during Napoleon's reign. By this treaty, Europe was longing for a stable, long-term peace plan.
