The founder of Mauryan dynasty was Chandragupta Maurya. He was the first ruler of this dynasty. After dethroning the last Nanda ruler Dhananand and occupying Patliputra with the help of Kautilya (Chanakya). Chandragupta Maurya defeated Seleucus nicator. He surrendered a vast territory. The reign of Chandragupta Maurya was 322 BC- 298 BC. After this, his son Bindusara became the king of the Mauryan empire. After bindusara, his son Ashoka became the king of the Maurya dynasty. He was the greatest Indian king.
