The above statement is true. The Rowlatt Satyagraha was a non-violent movement. Rowlatt Satyagraha was done against the Rowlatt act. This legislation was approved in March 1919 by the Imperial Legislative Council. It permitted the government to detain suspects for up to two years without a trial. It also allowed the police to search a place without a warrant. Gandhi and the other leaders called for a Satyagraha or Hartal (suspension of labour) to show Indians' opposition to this law and to demand the repeal of Rowlatt Satyagraha. Gandhiji resorted to non-violent mass during the Satyagraha.
