Detailed Solution

The above statement is True.
The march lasted  24 days, from  March 12, 1930, to  April 5, 1930, to protest against the British salt monopoly. The state salt monopoly was deeply unpopular; By making them his target, Gandhiji hoped to mobilise broader discontent against British rule. On  March 12, 1930, Gandhiji began walking from his ashram in Sabarmati toward the ocean. Three weeks later, he reached his destination, prepared some salt as he did, and thus made himself a criminal in the eyes of the law. On  March 12, 1930, Gandhi began his famous march from his Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad. He was accompanied by 80 Satyagrahis, who were residents of his ashram. On the path they walked, people flocked to support their cause. People joined them as they progressed. The procession was getting longer and longer, and it was called the White Flowing River because everyone there was wearing white ao dai. The march reached Dandi on  April 5, where about 50,000 people were waiting for them. On April 6, Gandhi broke the Law of Salt by lifting salt from the sea. The march received extensive coverage in the national and international media.
