The pH is a scale that defines whether a substance is acidic in nature or basic in nature.
pH scale ranges from 1-14. pH 7 means the solution is neutral, pH less than 7 means the solution is acidic and pH more than 7 means the solution is basic.
The formula to calculate pH or pOH of a solution is-
pH = -log [H + ] or
pOH = -log  OH
Now, [OH-] = 1 M (Given)
Therefore,
pOH = - log (1) = 0 pH + pOH = 14 pH = 14.
