Let the number of cows = x
Total number of legs of cows=2x
Let the number of hens = y
Total no. of legs of hens = 2y
Total number of legs=2x+2y
Total number of heads= x+y
Given: number of legs is 14 more than twice the number of heads
Total number of legs = 2(total number of heads) + 14
4x+2y=[2{x+y}+14]  
4x+2y=2x+2y+14 (4x−2x)+(2y−2y)=14 (4x−2x)=14 2x=14 x= 14 2 x=7
