Detailed Solution

“When a consumer feels the seller has exploited him, he must file a case in the District Consumer Court” is a true statement since it is one of the consumer rights bestowed to him by the Act. The Consumer Protection Act 1986 grants customers the right to be heard. This means the customer has the right to represent himself before the appropriate redressal forum. If a customer feels that his interests are hurt, he has the right to file a complaint in the district commission court, provided the amount of his claim does not exceed Rs. 20 lakhs. If the consumer or other party is dissatisfied with the verdict of the district forum, he is allowed to appeal to the state commission within thirty days of the passing of the judgement.
