Detailed Solution

The above statement is false.
Mahatma Gandhi returned to India leaving South Africa forever in 1915. Gandhi’s return to India has to be the beginning of the Gandhian Phase of the Indian Struggle. Since his return, he took time to analyse the situation in India which was under the rule of Britishers. He had gone to South Africa to fight a case for his client. There he fought against Apartheid (racial discrimination). In India, he led the Champaran Satyagraha, Ahmedabad Mill Strike, the Non-Cooperation movement, Civil Disobedience and finally the Quit India movement. He was a believer in ahimsa and satyagraha (non-violence and truth).
The correct statement would be Gandhi returned to India leaving South Africa in 1915.
