Spindle apparatus of animal cells has centrioles of centrosomes, astral fibers, chromosomes with kinetochores, polar fibers. Chromosomal fibers, Microtubule associated proteins like dyneins and kinesins. In plant cells it lacks centrosome and astral fibers. In animal cells, the spindle apparatus is attached to cell membrane through astral fibers and to chromosomes with the help of chromosomal spindle fibers attached to kinetochores of chromosomes but not with the DNA of chromosomes. Only microtubules of cytoskeleton are involved in spindle apparatus formation.
