The first organisms that invaded land were plants. About 350 mya, fishes with stout and strong fins could move on land and go back to water. These fishes are called lobe finned fishes and were thought to have become extinct. But in 1938, South African fishermen caught a fish which was found to be lobe finned fish (coelacanth). These lobe finned fishes evolved into first Amphibians that lived both on land and water. The first Amphibians have now become extinct.
