Detailed Solution

The above statement is true. Alauddin Khilji was one of the mighty kings of the Khilji dynasty. He was the first Delhi sultan to conquer northern and southern parts of India. He sent his powerful army, led by the skilful Malik Kafur, to annex the southern region of India. Malik Kafur subdued the Yadavas of Devagiri, the Kakatiyas of Warangal, the Hoysalas of Dwarasamudra, and the Pandyas of Madurai between the years 1306 and 1311. The Sultan's supremacy and tribute payments were prerequisites for the southern state kings and queens to retain their positions of power. Later, he invaded and seized control of Hindu kingdoms like Gujarat, Ranthambore, Chittor, Malwa, Siwana, and Jalore.
