Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.
Ashoka's Dhamma is an accumulation of good teachings of different religions. Dhamma ( a Prakrit form of the Sanskrit word dharma) is a collection of edicts issued by the Mauryan emperor Ashoka. He ascended to the Mauryan throne in India around 269 B.C.E. Ashoka is recognised as one of the greatest monarchs of ancient India because of his social welfare measures. Ashoka's Dhamma is a collection of good teachings from various religions. It did not include any form of worship or sacrifice. The Buddha's teachings also influenced him. Several issues bothered him greatly, such as that people in the empire practised different religions, which sometimes led to conflict. So, he felt his role was to solve all problems in his kingdom. As a result, Ashoka appointed several officials known as dhamma mahamatta, who travelled from place to place teaching people about the Dhamma.
