Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.
In Ancient India, Magadha became the most important and powerful of all the kingdoms and the hub of political action in the north. Magadha's capital was Rajagriha.
From 544 to 492 B.C., Bimbisara ruled Magadha for 52 years. He was a member of the Haryanka family. Marriage ties bolstered his rank and wealth. His initial allegiance was with the Kosala family and a woman named Kosala Devi. The Kasi region was handed to him as a dowry. Then, Bimbisara wed a princess from Vaishali's Licchavi family. He was guaranteed the safety of the northern frontier by this arrangement. Next, he remarried Khema, a member of the Madra royal family in central Punjab. His son Ajatshatru (492–460 B.C.) put him in prison and killed him. Ajatshatru pursued an aggressive expansionist strategy. As a result, he moved closer to Kashi and Koshala.
