The sheep could not tolerate or bear the rain or the wet conditions of monsoon. That's the reason Dhangars leave the Konkan region before the onset of the monsoon. Dhangars moved to the Konkan region during monsoon because Maharashtra has a semi-arid region with low rainfall. So they moved from Maharashtra to the Konkan region, where they got good pasture lands for grazing, and the owners of land also allowed Dhangar to let their animals graze in their fields because they got manure on land from cattle.
