Detailed Solution

The given statement is True.
Ghiyas ud din Balban was the ninth Mamluk sultan of Delhi. Barban made the following changes to strengthen his Sultanate of Delhi. He was the ruler of a vast empire that stretched from Bengal (Gauda) in the east to Ghazni (Gajana) in Afghanistan in the west and encompassed all of South India (Dravida). Recognising the empire's weaknesses, Balban led to a military and administrative restructuring. He built an efficient spy system and reorganised his army.  Ghiyas ud din Balban reigned as Sultan from 1265 until his death in 1287. Barban's heir was his eldest son, Muhammad, Prince of Khan, who died in battle against the Mongols on  March 9, 1285.
