Detailed Solution

The given statement is true.
The third Mamluk king to oversee the erstwhile Ghurid lands in northern India was Shams ud-Din Iltutmish. He is regarded as the de facto founder of the Delhi Sultanate because he was the first Muslim ruler to do so from Delhi. Following Aibak's passing, Iltutmish deposed his unpopular successor Aram Shah in 1211 and established Delhi as his capital. He wed an Aibak daughter, conquered several rebels, and took back much of the area that had been lost after Aibak's passing. In Turkic, the word "Iltutmish" literally translates to "maintainer of the kingdom." He has been referred to as "Lititmisi" in Sanskrit language inscriptions from the Delhi Sultanate, which is another way to say "Iltutmish."
