Detailed Solution

The given statement is false.
In 1885 Massailand was divided in half and made an international boundary with British Kenya and German Tanganyika. The white settlers took over the best grazing lands. They forced Masai to a small and confined arid area where rainfall was also not good, and the pasture land was also not good. These areas got uncertain rainfall and poor pasture land which was not enough for Masai to survive with their cattle. The most significant part of Maasai grazing land was converted into game reserves & pastoralists were not allowed to enter these reserves.
The correct statement would be that Afghans did not completely capture Maasailand in 1885.
