Detailed Solution

The given statement is True.
Language and its interpretation have been observed to change over time. Minhaj-i Siraj, a 13th-century Persian chronicler, coined the term "Hindustan." He meant the regions of Punjab, Haryana, and the lands between the rivers when he used this term. Yamana and Hang It were used with political connotations to refer to the lands under the Sultan of Delhi's dominion. Although the term evolved with the dynasty's reach, it never included southern India. Later in the 16th century, Babur used the term to refer to the geography, fauna, and culture of the subcontinent's inhabitants.
Amir Khusrau, a 14th-century poet, used the term "Hindu" similarly. It is worth noting that while the concept of a geographical and cultural entity such as "India" existed, the term "Hindustan" did not have the political and national connotations that we now associate with it.
