Detailed Solution

The above statement is true. The architecture of the Sultanate Period manifested the aesthetic heritage of new sultans, which included both religious and secular structures, i.e. Indo-Islamic architecture. The Delhi Sultanate used local stones, mostly from the nearby Aravalis. The Delhi Sultanate buildings are less ornate when compared to the Mughals. Delhi Sultanate structures were frequently built upon the ruins of those they had destroyed. Some examples of these religious & secular structures include Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, Adhai din ka Jhopra & Qutub Minar.
