Detailed Solution

The given statement is true.
Jahangir's mother was Mariam-uz-Zamani. She was the Rajput princess. The fourth Mughal Emperor, Nur-ud-Din Muhammad Salim, also known by his imperial name Jahangir, governed from 1605 until his demise in 1627. The third child to be born to Akbar and Mariam-uz-Zamani, his preferred Queen Consort, in Fatehpur Sikri in August 1569 was Prince Salim. When Akbar learned that his principal Hindu wife was carrying a new child, an order was made to build a royal palace at Sikri next to Shaikh Salim Chisti's residence so that the Empress may take comfort from being in the proximity of the revered saint.
