Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.
The Non-Cooperation Movement was abruptly suspended by Gandhiji. Mahatma Gandhi made the decision to end the Non-Cooperation Movement in February 1922 in the wake of the Chauri-chaura incident. He believed that the movement was becoming violent in many areas and that satyagrahis needed to undergo proper training before they were prepared for large-scale conflicts. Some leaders within the Congress wanted to take part in the elections for the provincial councils that had been established by the Government of India Act of 1919 since they were by this point wary of large-scale struggles.
