The yield of wheat grown using conventional methods was 1300 kg per hectare, whereas the yield of wheat grown using HYV seeds went from 1300 kg per hectare to 3200 kg per hectare. This shift from traditional methods to HYV seeds led to a large increase in wheat production. This new production method was first adopted in the northern states like Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh called The green revolution.
