Babur was the first Mughal Emperor. His full name was Zahir ud din Muhammad Babur. He succeeded to the throne of Ferghana in the year 1494. This was much before he entered Delhi. His rule in Ferghana couldn’t last long, and he had to leave the throne after an invasion by the other Mongol group of Uzbeks. This also explains the reason for tensions between the two. Further, in 1504, he successfully seized Kabul, and in 1526, he defeated the Sultan of Delhi, Ibrahim Lodi, at Panipat. With this, he captured Delhi and established himself on the throne, beginning the era of the Mughal empire. Along with Delhi, he had also captured Agra.
