Like Gujjar bakarwals, this pains the winter in the low hills of the Shivalik range, grazing their cattle in the dry scrub forests. By April, they will move to the north and spend the summer in Lahaul and Spiti. When snow melts and the passes are clear many of them will move on to the higher mountain regions, and by September, they will begin their return moment. On the way, this season is again in the villages of Lahaul and Spiti, ripping their summer harvest and sowing their winter crop. Then the cycle will continue.
