Detailed Solution

The given statement is false.
Gandhi served as the editor of Indian Opinion, Young India, Navjivan, and Harijan. On September 7, 1919, Gandhi bought out the Navjivan weekly. However, Gandhi's critical writings presented a problem for the British government. No printing press owner was willing to put their business in peril by publishing reports critical of the government. Therefore, Navjivan felt the need to buy its printing press. Gandhi believed that shoddy printing was his guilt (violence). He insisted on clear text, thick paper, and neat, straightforward covers. Throughout his life, the Navjivan Press published many low-cost publications. For example, it cost 12 annas to buy his Gujarati autobiography. This book was inexpensively released in Devanagari as well.
The correct statement would be Gandhi was not an editor of  Bengal gazette weekly.
