Detailed Solution

The given statement is True.
The Pandyas were a powerful Tamil kingdom flourishing alongside the Cholas, the Cheras, and the Pallavas. Referred to as Pandyas of Madurai. The kingdom was wealthy and prosperous due to its location. The kings were known as Jayavarman or maravarman, and they were initially Jains who turned into Shaivites. They flourished two times, namely in the 6th to 10th centuries and the 13th and 14th centuries, but Greek texts write about their existence till the 4thh to 3rd centuries. The kings assembled literary assemblies known as Sangam, and the recorded discussions came to be known as Sangam literature which refers to the three crowned rulers as the muventar. Madurai was the capital city of the Pandyan dynasty till the 14th century, as mentioned in Kautilya's Arthashastra in the 4th century B.C. as "Mathura of the south."
