Detailed Solution

The given statement is True.
Manimekhalai, also known as Manimekalai, is a Tamil-Buddhist epic written by Kulavika Seethalai Shattnar in the 6th century. It is an "anti-love story", a sequel to the "love story" in the first Tamil epic, Silappadikaram, featuring some of its characters and their descendants. The epic has 4,861 lines in akaval metres, divided into 30 cantos. Manimekalai is also the name of Kovalan and Madhavi's daughter, who follows in her mother's footsteps as a dancer and Buddhist nun. The epic narrates her story. Her physical beauty and artistic accomplishments enticed Chola Prince Udayakumara and thus is after her. She, a Mahayana Buddhist nun, strongly desires to be free of human ties. She rejects his advances, but she is drawn to him.
