It was tremendously helpful in 1930 when the Civil Disobedience movement got started. The Civil Disobedience Movement got its start when Gandhiji disobeyed the Salt Laws. Hence Gandhiji broke the Dandi Salt Laws on April 6 by removing some salt the waves had left behind. Therefore, the removal of the salt tax was the primary demand of the civil disobedience movement. In 1934, the campaign came to an end.
