The garbhagriha was the place for rituals where only the king, his close relatives, and priests gathered. The image of the chief deity was worshipped in the main shrine. Elaborately carved sculptures adorned the temples in the Khajuraho complex, where commoners were not granted entry. The main shikhara of the temple is 31 metres.
