The above statement is true. The Non-Cooperation-Khilafat Movement began in January 1921. Different social groups participated in the movement, each with its ambitions. The organisation started with the participation of middle-class people in the cities. Thousands of students left government-run schools and colleges, principals and teachers resigned, and lawyers abandoned their legal practices. So, cooperation in the economic sector was astounding. Foreign goods were confiscated, liquor stores were seized, and foreign textiles were set on fire. In many places, traders and traders refuse to trade foreign goods or finance foreign exchange. As the boycott movement spread, and people began to dump foreign clothing and wear only Indians, production of Indian textile mills and hand mills increased.
