Detailed Solution

The given statement is True.
A Brahmanical society founded on Puranic religious principles was attempted to be created in Bengal by the Brihaddharma Purana. The importance of the Varnashrama Dharma, the superiority of Brahmanas schooled in the Vedas, and local deities and cults were all recognised by society. Bengali Brahmanical culture was to be established by the Puranas. Outsiders who did not adhere to the standard Brahmanical religious beliefs were presumably called Mlechchhas and Yavanas. Because they regarded the Vedas as unsuitable, the Buddhists were referred to as Pasandi. Additionally, because they abandoned Varna Dharma, they strayed from the route outlined by the Vedas. Buddhists were blamed for social ills and issues because they were seen as destructive and conspicuous symbols of unluck.
