The caste system in India has been functioning since ancient times. Indian society was divided between upper caste and lower caste. The Upper caste enjoys all the perks and privileges from the beginning. Whereas, The Lower caste faces discrimination in society. Untouchability (not allowance in public places) is the discrimination that faces lower castes of society, especially Dalits. The Indian constitution abolishes all types of untouchability and gives status of equality to every citizen of India. It also provides some special benefits to the lower class for upliftment.
