Detailed Solution

The above statement is True.
Around 3900 years, Harappan cities began to decline.
People stopped living in many of the cities. Historians have found that people abandoned sites in Sindh and west Punjab (present-day Pakistan), and many people moved into newer, smaller settlements to the east and the south. People stopped using writing, seals, and weights. Raw materials brought from overseas became rare. In Mohenjodaro, the drainage system broke down, and people started building impressive houses. Many scholars gave theories regarding the decline of the Harappan civilisation. Some scholars suggested deforestation because of fuel usage in various industries and grazing, which might have destroyed the green cover. Some others suggest the rivers dried up. Some areas experienced floods. Some scholars also suggest that the rulers lost control.
