Detailed Solution

The above statement is true.
James Mill divided Indian history into three periods- Hindu, Muslim, and Christian.
James Mill presented the periodisation of Indian History in three periods in his book, a History of British India. It was published in three volumes. Hindu, Muslim, and British eras were used to partition Indian history. He presented that the pre-British period was characterised by the domination of religion. The Hindu and Muslim despotic rulers held prominence. Society was uncivilised.  However, British rule is the one that could civilise Indian society. The Britishers should conquer all territories and introduce the manner, laws, institutions, etc. of Western thought. India could move on the path of civilization with the help of India.
